About the Press

A press for
people in
the middle of it.

Not just for executives. Not just for academics. For anyone in the middle of something hard, real, and worth thinking carefully about.

SideFire Press is a nonfiction imprint of Ember Lens Media LLC. We publish books for people grappling with complexity, change, and transformation — at work, in organizations, and in their own lives.

We're not interested in theory for its own sake, or ideas that only work in stable conditions. We publish for the terrain most books pretend doesn't exist — the messy middle, the high-stakes moment, the question that doesn't have a clean answer yet.

Our door is open to authors who have been in the room, made the call, and have something honest to say about what they found there. The press is young. The list is growing.

What we look for in a SideFire book
Our editorial compass
01
Honest about complexity
We don't publish books that pretend hard things are simple. A SideFire book earns its conclusions — it doesn't shortcut them.
02
Written from experience
Our authors have lived close to their subject. The authority in a SideFire book comes from being there — not just observing from the outside.
03
Built to be used
A SideFire book succeeds when someone reaches for it before a hard conversation, a difficult decision, or a moment that asks something of them.
04
Accessible to any curious reader
You don't need a title or a credential to read our books. If you're curious and you're paying attention, there's something here for you.
05
Lean and well-edited
We edit for clarity and weight. No padding, no performance. A SideFire book respects the reader's time as a form of integrity.
06
Transformation as the subject
Change — in organizations, in teams, in people — is at the heart of everything we publish. Not change as abstraction. Change as something you live through.
The Publisher
Meena Al-Azzawe
Founder & Publisher · Practitioner, Faculty, and Author

Meena Al-Azzawe founded SideFire Press as the nonfiction imprint of Ember Lens Media LLC. She is a practitioner and faculty member working at the intersection of agentic AI, organizational cognition, and human transformation.

She started the press to publish the books she needed and couldn't find — direct, honest, and built for the terrain where most frameworks stop working. The inaugural titles are her own. The list will grow.

"I didn't set out to build a press. I set out to write books that could actually help people think through hard things. The press is what made that possible."
